Executive Director of the Northern Trust and former Los Angeles Lakers star Jerry West, 71, AKA"Mr. Clutch" chips onto a Ferris Wheel gondola at Pacific Park on Friday, January 29, 2010. West, one of the greatest guards in Lakers and NBA history was participating in PLAY LA, an 18-day, city-wide event of 18 golfers – including celebrities and notable Angelenos – putting, chipping and driving their way through iconic Los Angeles locations in a countdown to the PGA TOUR’s Northern Trust Open.

The Northern Trust Open will take place at historic Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades on February 2-7. The course is the only Los Angeles stop on the 2010 PGA TOUR. All proceeds raised from the sale of tournament tickets will benefit the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce Charity Foundation, which impacts the lives of more than 15,000 L.A. residents each year. Northern Trust is increasing the benefit to charities by donating up to $5,000 on select holes when golfers master the PLAY challenge. Since its founding in 1926, the Northern Trust Open has generated more than $50 million for philanthropic programs in Southern California.
