Jim Casalor, 61, (left) works out with Peter Bluementhal, 40, at the Santa Monica Family YMCA on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Bluementhal has been weight training for more than 20 years. He has competed in the California Special Olympics for 15 years and hold numerous powerlifting championship titles. He has bench pressed 253lbs and dominated his class. Bluementhal announced last October that he is retiring from competition although he will continue to workout at the Santa Monica Family YMCA. He swims laps for an hour and weightlifts with his friends every day. "I like working out at the YMCA with my friends, we are a family here," said Bluementhal.
