Students walk past the 'SS Viking' at Santa Monica High School on Wednesday, June 04, 2010. The giant blue and gold ship is 85 ft. long and 30 ft. tall and made from plywood. The vessel will stage the 20th Annual 'Grad Nite' celebration on Thursday, June 17, for the 2010 graduating senior class. The vessel takes three weekends to construct and one weekend to dismantle. Two hounded and fifty volunteers consisting of parents, district teachers, SAMOHI staff, local businesses and members from the community worked on the graduation  project. The evening will include a DJ, dancing, carnival and casino games, food, a complimentary DVD of the evening, lots of prizes and much more. Grad Nite is drug and alcohol-free graduation party that keeps students safe, sober and alive on what is statistically the most dangerous night of their lives.
