Mentees from the Salty Shakespeare Company, Christian Soto, 16, and Sebastian Schier, 12,  perform a fight scene from “Hamlet” at the Annenberg Community Beach House during a  theatre program on Tuesday, June 26, 2012.

Salty Shakespeare is a group of actors dedicated to making Shakespeare a part of everyday life----taking the greatest poet who ever lived out of the darkness and confines of the theatre into the streets.

The way it was done in the first place.

Salty Shakespeare is not interested in occupying a space or selling expensive tickets. Their rehearsal hall is a park or a street corner. Their actors will erupt anywhere in L.A. with a scene from HAMLET or HENRY V or CORIOLANUS. National Public Radio covered them doing 1 minute and 50 seconds of HAMLET in a crowded elevator in downtown L.A. for Weekend Edition. An L.A.

You never know where they’ll turn up.
