Santa Monica Fire Department Chief Scott Ferguson addresses his firefighters during the 911 Remembrance Ceremony at SMFD headquarters on Thursday, September 11, 2013. "It's never enough just to "remember" one day a year; but, it's a start. In honor of the 343, all firefighters, career or volunteer, owe it to future generations to take a few moments today to recommit to the most honorable of our profession's values: service before self," Chief Ferguson.
