The Great American Safety Drive kicks off today from the Santa Monica Pier enroute to beautiful Hilton Head, S.C. -  a cross-country expedition to demonstrate their industry's commitment to safety for their crews and the patients they serve. At various stops along the way, host locations will hold a ½ day safety event with participation from local air medical and their EMS counterparts invited to attend.
.
The goal of the Great American Safety Drive is to raise at least $100,000 for the MedEvac Foundation International, earmarked specifically to support safety research, education and programs such as the Survivors Network and Vision Zero.
.
The MedEvac Foundation International is an international non-profit 501C (3) charitable organization headquartered in the Washington, DC area.  The Foundation helps the Association of Air Medical Services (AAMS) represent the Air Medical and the Critical Care Ground Transport Industry.  Since 2005, the MedEvac Foundation International has supported research, education, and outreach programs that enhance the industry’s ability to provide quality medical care and provide safe and effective air and ground medical transportation for every patient in-need.  We fund programs and charitable activities that support AAMS’ members and their families, who serve their communities with pride and commitment and provide life-saving services throughout the United States and around the world.  (Santa Monica Pier, Saturday, May 31, 2014)
