Many bicycle and scooter mobile rental vendors have popped up along Ocean Front Walk due to loopholes after Santa Monica City Council approved an emergency ordinance establishing temporary regulations for shared mobility systems and devices caused by Bird electric scooters. There are now 8 places to rent bikes from between the Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street. (3 brick and mortar vendors, 4 mobile street rental vendors and a Breeze Bike Share hub)
