Abbot Kinney dedicated the rainbow crosswalk in recognition of the 50th anniversary of Stonewall uprising. “Now we’ve walked in the open and know how pleasant it is to have self-respect and to be treated as human beings. We want to be in the sunlight from now on,” Richard Leitsch, 1935-2018. The rainbow crosswalk is made possible with the support of L.A. City Councilmember Mike Bonin, L.A.
