Dozens of Santa Monica hotel workers rally in a car caravan to call attention to the need for health insurance coverage through the pandemic.
The worker caravan drove by Le Meridian Delfina Santa Monica, Viceroy Hotel, Hotel Casa del Mar and Shutters on The Beach on Monday May 11, 2020.
The Fairmont Miramar is the only Santa Monica hotel that has agreed to pay to extend health insurance for their bellpersons, room attendants, cooks, servers, and others who have built Santa Monica’s tourism industry.
UNITE HERE Local 11 is the union of more than 32,000 workers in hotels, restaurants, airports, sports arenas and convention centers in Southern California and Arizona.
