Highlights from the annual Black History Greens Festival at Virginia Avenue Park on Saturday, February 26, 2022. This year's theme was Honoring California’s Black History, and the event featured a greens cooking demonstration with Chef Jamar, mindfulness meditation, book readings and giveaways, dance performances, Black cowboys, horse and pony rides, and KCRW DJ Novena Carmel. The festival was a collaboration with City of Santa Monica’s Virginia Avenue Park, the Parent Connection Group, the Pico Branch Library and the Santa Monica Farmers Market.
