WestSide Volkswagen Club Showcases Timeless Beauty During Annual 'Open Main Street' Event

Santa Monica's Main Street witnessed a dazzling display of classic Volkswagen cars on Sunday, August 13, 2023, during the annual "Open Main Street" festival. Enthusiasts from the WestSide Volkswagen Club proudly showcased their cherished rides, adding a touch of vintage charm to the vibrant event.

The WestSide Volkswagen Club is renowned for fostering a friendly and inclusive environment, and this spirit was palpable as attendees admired the timeless craftsmanship of these automobiles. A highlight of the day was the rare opportunity to witness unique and unconventional VW models, alongside custom-built vehicles that celebrated the boundless creativity and dedication of the VW community.

Beyond the stunning cars, the festival, presented by Cypress Equity Investments and LAcarGuy, offered a plethora of attractions for attendees of all ages. The festivities spanned the weekend of August 12-13 and featured a diverse range of activities.

Pickleball enthusiasts eagerly took to the pop-up courts on Ocean Park, engaging in introductory lessons, live matches, and open play sessions from 12 PM to 6 PM. Onlookers were treated to captivating exhibition games, where seasoned players showcased their skills between 2 PM and 4 PM each day.

Music enthusiasts were drawn to the Tavern on Main Stage and Cabin Creek Patio, where live performances echoed through the air from 3 PM to 7 PM. The weekend's musical lineup boasted talents such as DJ KimChi, Petty Theft, Mocha Chai & Friends on Saturday, followed by Dogtown Prophets, Old Corn Lickers, Ben Vaughn & Captain Danger on Sunday.

For families, the Pump Station & Nurtury Kid Corner, presented by Capital One Cafe, provided a haven of activities, including soccer sessions, music workshops, and the captivating Books & Cookies Musical Story Time. Meanwhile, parents enjoyed the convenience of the Nurtury Lounge, complete with essential amenities and refreshments.

Adult attendees had their own share of enjoyment at the Ashland Hill Beer Garden, sponsored by Venice Duck, open from 2 PM to 7 PM. Those aged 21 and above relished complimentary tastings from esteemed brands, complemented by the beats of DJ ARI on Saturday and DJ MOZO on Sunday.

Real estate enthusiasts capitalized on the Open Condo event from 2 PM to 5 PM on Saturday, gaining insights from Brian Maser and The Condo Experts team while savoring complimentary refreshments.

The "Open Main Street" festival truly transformed Santa Monica into a vibrant hub of community engagement and entertainment, promising more weekends filled with diverse attractions in the future.
