JERSEY BOYS
Clint Eastwood directs his adaptation of the the Broadway musical "Jersey Boys" at the Santa Monica Pier on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. JERSY BOYS is the journey of how a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time: Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty.
UNITED WE STAND
Ten of the first responders from FDNY and NYPD who were at Ground Zero on 9/11 along with Shutters on the Beach employees and guests fold the National 9/11 Memorial Flag on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. The Memorial flag will be transported to Dodger stadium for tonight’s baseball game and its 9/11 memorial. The flag has now been to all 50 states in the U.S. with California being its final destination before going to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.
911 Remembrance Ceremony

The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Arlington, Va. and in Shanksville, Pa. resulted in the deaths of 2,977 people. Those killed included 343 Firefighters, 60 Police Officers and 8 private EMT/Paramedics totaling 411 emergency personnel. Also included in the civilian deaths were 5 people with connections to Santa Monica. In recognition of those who perished on that tragic day, the Santa Monica Fire Department annually conducts a brief and solemn remembrance ceremony consistent with the International Association of Fire Chiefs recommended protocols. All four community Fire Stations participated.

TONGVA PARK

Tongva park opened today, Tuesday, September 10, 2013! The 6.2 acre park has more than 300 trees and four hilltop areas to explore. Tongva park is located between Ocean Avenue and Main Street, directly across from City Hall. The park provides an important gateway with a strong connection to iconic Palisades Park and the Santa Monica Pier. The official grand opening will be on October 19th!
Tony Sousa Car Show

The show was open to all Shelby, Cobra, Mustang and Ford cars. Featured cars included various classic Mustangs, as well as newer models belonging to club members.
