SEA CASTLE

Gabriel Ramirez from Empire Community Painting  applies a new coat of teal paint onto the Sea Castle on Wednesday, November 11, 2009. The SeaCastle is the only luxury apartment building in Santa Monica where the front terrace is the beach. Modern amenities combined with spectacular views and the most sought after location on the Westside. Located directly on the sand between Shutters Hotel and the Santa Monica Pier, SeaCastle draws its inspiration from the era of art deco/moderne design, a time when details were important. Inside, a soaring skylit lobby features cherry paneling from managed forests with backlit glass incisions, artisan crafted stainless steel rails and hand-troweled terrazzo floors, all in a palette of elegantly spare and modernly edgy expressions of style. The SeaCastle site has a history rich in star-studded activity and luxurious lifestyle. Originally opened as The Breakers Beach Club Hotel in 1926, the resort once hosted the likes of Jean Harlow, Maureen O'Sullivan, Greta Garbo and Frank Sinatra.
