We Belong

Singer/songwriter/recording artist Dan Navarro (“We Belong”) performs for frontline health care workers in the Saint John's Hospital parking lot, Tuesday, April 20, 2021. During his set, he performed a version of “We Belong” with new lyrics supporting health care heroes. Navarro is perhaps best known as co-writer of Pat Benatar’s massive hit “We Belong.” He performed a set of songs built around a new version of his classic song with lyrics acknowledging these everyday heroes. This was his first stop on his NomadDan tour of socially distanced venues after 14 months of online performances in quarantine.

Sacred Spaces

As part of Arts Month, Artist Yvette Gellis, (@yvettegellis) paints a 400-foot long mural entitled, “Sacred Spaces,” in front of the Annenberg Community Beach House, Tuesday, April 20, 2021. The artist will be painting onsite periodically through April 21st. The completed mural will be on view through the summer.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Yvette Gellis' contemplation of the vast open terrain in contrast to the urban sprawl set up structures for her painting that echo or reiterate the impermanent and mutable states depicted in her work. She has exhibited nationally and internationally including the Pasadena Museum of California Art, the Landesgalerie Museum for Modern and Contemporary Art in Linz, Austria, St. Jacques Eglise in Dival, France, and the 18th Street Arts Center, Santa Monica.

Public Health Orders - Lack of Compliance

For outdoor private events, a maximum of 100 people is allowed, but that limit can increase to 300 people if all guests are tested or vaccinated. Tables are also limited to 6 people from a maximum of 3 households unless everyone at the table is vaccinated. Indoor private events are only allowed if all guests are tested or vaccinated with a limit of 150 guests.

Public Health is also modifying the protocols for private social or informal gatherings. Outdoor gatherings can have up to a maximum of 50 people. Masks will be required at all times unless people are eating or drinking. There must be 6-feet of distance between tables and chairs. Seating at tables is restricted to 6 people from up to three households. If everyone is vaccinated, the capacity limit at tables are not necessary.
