47 Flash Mob March-Solidarity with Hong Kong

47 Flash Mob March-Solidarity with Hong Kong, demonstrate at the Third Street Promenade, Sunday, March 7, 2021.

This Flash Mob March is part of a global action with other US cities, HKers in Los Angeles, showing solidarity with the 47 opposition activists in Hong Kong, who were arrested and charged for state subversion for holding a electoral primary. This is Beijing's attempt to use the brutal National Security Law to interfere with the competitive elections in the most worst political persecution in Hong Kong history.

The march was presented by 香港人在加州 - CA852 and 洛杉磯香港論壇 Hong Kong Forum, Los Angeles

A Resurrection in Four Stanzas

Santa Monica’s new public art installation entitled, “A Resurrection in Four Stanzas,” by April Banks, 2021, at the Historic Belmar Park, Thursday, February 25, 2021.

The red sculpture is a homage to the shotgun house.

The exhibition is delineated in four metal sculptures at full architectural scale.

The shotgun house was a common architectural style for homes in the Belmar neighborhood and surrounding areas in the early 20th century.

Historic Belmar Park provides a space for recreation and historical reflection on a site where some of Santa Monica’s earliest African American residents lived and contributed to making Santa Monica a vibrant and unique place from 1900 to the 1950s.

Historic Belmar Park is located at 1855 Main Street.

MISSION 22

Mission 22 Mental Health Warriors run along the Santa Monica Beach Bike Path, Saturday, February 20, 2021.

Mission 22 is dedicated to healing America’s veterans. They offer treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injury, substance abuse and all of the issues veterans are facing today.

Every day in America we lose over 20 veterans to suicide.

Mission 22 ’s mission is to end the stigma surrounding PTS and Traumatic Brain Injury and get our veterans the treatment options they want and deserve.

Mission 22 supports the veteran community with three main programs; veteran treatment programs, memorials and community social impact. Mission 22 provides treatment programs to veterans for Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and other issues they might be facing. It organizes events and builds memorials to create social impact and awareness for these issues. Mission 22 serves combat veterans, those injured in training who therefore could not deploy and victims of MST. Mission 22 also has an Ambassador volunteer program for people to get involved as well. Ambassadors educate the public on veteran issues, help get veterans into Mission 22 treatment programs and create resources in their communities. Through these three programs, it enables a push for the betterment of our community and support when veterans need it the most, right now.
