The Gumpathon, a team consisting of six men from the U.S. Marines, Royal Marines, and U.S. Army, run down the Santa Monica Pier on Thursday, November 11, 2010, and complete their two-month, 3,530-mile journey across the United States.
The Gumpathon began at the USS Intrepid in New York at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 11, to raise money for injured service men and women on both sides of the Atlantic. The Vetrans ran across 16 states, across three deserts, four time zones and 10 mountain ranges.
Money collected goes to the following charities: Help for Heroes, The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, and the US injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
The team consists of Colour Sergeant Damien Todd, Mark Ormrod, Master Gunnery Sergeant Charles Padilla, Marine, Jamie Jobson, Corporal Lloyd Fenner, and SSgt James Mazzoni-Dalton.
