The exhibition captures a sense of the ephemeral and unique coming together of thousands of people to experience the art installations and performative artwork throughout the "Glow Zone, on the beach, in Palisades Park, and on the Pier. Photographs were taken at Glow, on July 19, 2008, September 25, 2010, and September 28, 2013. The selected images capture the unique qualities of the event, the art, artists, people, the beach and city and convey a sense of the night.

National Night Out
Dancers perform during the 31st Annual National Night Out at the Santa Monica Civic parking lot on Tuesday, Aug, 5, 2014. National Night Out involves over 15,325 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases around the world.
National Night Out is an opportunity for the Santa Monica Police Departmentto honor the exceptional relationship our police and community share together. This partnership allows the City of Santa Monica to be a safe place to live, work and visit. The event is designed to generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime efforts. It strengthens neighborhood and police-community partnerships and sends a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Along with showcasing the Department's personnel and equipment, there were local bicycle vendors, driving demonstrations, giant inflatable fire engine slide, rock climbing wall, carnival games, food trucks and more.
Some of the sponsors of this year's event include the Santa Monica Police Officers' Association, 7-Eleven, Pacific Park, Santa Monica, Nextdoor, - UCLA, Santa Monica, Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce, Santa Monica Neighborhood Association, Chabad Santa Monica.

Harre Krishna's hand-pull three fully decorated, four-story chariots down Main Street Santa Monica during the 38th Annual Festival of Chariots on Sunday,Aug 3, 2014. The parade commenced at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and traveled south on Main St., west on Rose Ave., south on the Venice Boardwalk and ended at the Ocean Front Walk Plaza in Venice. The Festival of the Chariots featured free feast for thousands, free entertainment, exhibits and booths all bringing together the finest in Indian culture. The festival celebrates Lord Jagannatha, the Lord of the Universe, and is put on by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). The Festival of the Chariots is now performed in every country across the world and dates back 5 thousand years to Jagannatha Puri, India.
