SMDP Police Officer George  Mendez and his K9 Partner Rex, a nine year old Belgian Malinois from Holland, show of Rex's ability to sniff out narcotics during a Santa Monica Kiwanis Luncheon at The Santa Monica Family YMCA on Wednesday, June 7, 2006. Mendez and Rex have been partners for four years now. Mendez has been an officer since 1989.
