Desi dance

Students from  Santa Monica College's  Desi Club dance to Punjabi Music while Shahbaz Chaudhry, 20, (right) beats the dhol (drum) during the annual Club Row Festival at SMC on Thursday, May 17, 2007. The annual event is designed for  many clubs at SMC to recruit members and raise funds. Club participants set up colorful booths across the Library Walkway, where they discussed their activities to prospective members and attracte a multitude of students with promises of food and prizes. The event turned out new club devotees and at least a spark of interest in many others.
