2007 Relay for Life
1-2) Survivors' lap: Wearing purple t-shirts, cancer survivors kicked-off the 2007 American Cancer Society Relay For Life - 24 hour walk at John Adams Middle School's field on Saturday, July 28, 2007. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an international event, organized to raise money for cancer research and education. To help accomplish that goal, teams walked laps around the track all day Saturday and continued throughout the night ending Sunday morning at 9am. 2-4) ILdaura Carmona hugs and places a Relay for Life medal on her mother Connie Bautista at the end of the Relay For Life's Survivors Lap on. Bautista has been cancer free for 27 years. 5) Twenty-seven year cancer survivor Connie Bautista (second from left) walks with her daughter ILdaura Carmona (right), her granddaughter Lisa Lizama, 21 (left), and her great-grandson Omar Luis, Jr., 4, during the 2007 American Cancer Society's Relay For Life.
