(1) Phillip Reid, 22, (number 44 in the center) who hails from San Luis Obispo, leads the pack during the Third annual Saint John's Santa Monica 5000 on Sunday, October 19, 2008. Reid came in first place in the 5K event with a time of 13:99 and won $1,500 for his first place finish, along with a $300 time bonus for breaking 14:20. Money raised from the event supports programs at the hospital.(2) Runners warm up with some stretches before the race.
