Don't Squeeze the Charmin

The lovable Charmin Bears welcome guest on the third Street Promenade during their 2008 National Tour on Tuesday, Oct 28, 2008. Charmin unveiled its "Plush Potties for the People" tour in Santa Monica, CA on the Third Street Promenade, where tourists and locals can finally feel clean and comfortable in public restrooms. Comedian and best selling author Chelsea Handler was on site to launch the luxury mobile loos, and announce her support for the need for cleaner and more accessible public bathrooms throughout the country. Charmin's "Plush Potties" are free, family-friendly, ADA compliant and best of all: extremely clean! The stalls include state-of-the-art toilets, faucets, sinks and sconces provided by KOHLER(TM), a stainless steel baby changing station, fireplace, vanities and flat screen televisions! The Bathrooms are cleaned after every use. "I'm excited to be putting my name behind this program, and helping Charmin with such a public need," said Handler, who is host of the hit show Chelsea Lately on E!. "As a frequent traveler, I've seen some nasty public restrooms, and it's a horrible feeling to come out feeling dirtier than when you went in. With the 'Plush Potties' national tour, Charmin is finally offering the opportunity to go in style!" Chelsea Handler decided to partner with Charmin to address the public bathroom crisis across America, especially after learning the "City of Angels" only provides a mere 200 bathrooms to the public - considering the 20+ million tourists that visit per year. The "Plush Potties" tour starts in Los Angeles and will travel to Chicago, IL on November 6th and Boston, MA on November 10th, leading up to the grand re-opening of Charmin Restrooms in New York's Time Square this holiday season.
