Trekkers

(left to right) Wil Hernandez, Kevin Costley, Juan Carlos Fernandez and Rick Rifle, dressed as team Star Trek from the National AIDS Marathon Training Program, cheer on  runners at the Santa Monica Boardwalk, on Saturday, November 15, 2008. The National AIDS Marathon Training Program is geared to both beginners and experienced runners. The full marathon program starts with three miles of running and walking, and then gradually increases in distance. Whether you have never run a step, or you are a seasoned marathoner who wants to improve your personal best, this program will help you succeed. It’s a great way to get fit, have fun, and make a tremendous difference in the lives of people living with AIDS. The National AIDS Marathon Training Program was developed by Walk-The-Talk Productions in 1998 to raise money for urgently needed AIDS services. In the past nine years, more than 20,000 people have successfully completed the training program and raised $75 million for the fight to end AIDS. Their mission is to help runners accomplish their training and fundraising goals, and in the process, improve the lives of people living with HIV/AIDS.
