Shoppers take advantage of big discounts during "Black Friday" at the Third Street Promenade on Friday, November 28, 2008. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving which marks the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season and is also known as the busiest retail shopping day of the year.
