Retired Santa Monica Fire Chief Jim Hone (center) presents 4 check totaling $24,533.08 on Thursday June 3, 2010, to Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL) Santa Monica Bay Area Human Relations Council (HRC), Red Cross of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Firefighters Local 1109 .
Chief Hone served on the Executive Boards of the Santa Monica Bay Area Human Relations Council, Police Activities League (PAL) and Santa MonicaChapter of the American Red Cross and worked with, and was a member of Santa Monica Firefighter’s Local 1109.
Over the past 30 years, Jim has served the Santa Monica community as a Firefighter/Paramedic (1980 – 1983), Fire Captain/Paramedic (1983-1988), Hazardous Materials Captain (1988 – 1990), Support Services Division Chief (1990 – 1995) and Fire Marshal (1995 – 2003) before being promoted to Fire Chief where he has served for the past six years.
