Pacific Voyagers

A group of Pacific Islanders called the Pacific Voyagers sail in Santa Monica Bay in six vaka moanas, boats based on ancient Polynesian tradition, on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011. The group have traveled from New Zealand to California to spread a message of ocean conservation.

They Started in Aotearoa (New Zealand) in April of 2011 an have sailed to Tahiti, The Marquesas,  throughout Hawaii across the Pacific to San Francisco and down the coast to Santa Monica
