Lag B’Omer Celebration 

Orthodox Jewish men dance around  a bonfire at Marine Park during  Simcha Monica’s  Lag B’Omer celebration on Thursday, May 10, 2012.  Lag B’Omer is a Jewish holiday that falls between the holidays of Passover and Shavuot,. It also marks the anniversary of the death of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, who had rebelled against Roman rule and is believed to be the author of the Zohar, the core text of Kabbalah mysticism. The fire represent the light of the Torah.
