"Picnic on the Promenade" Friday, May 16, 2014. Enjoy a cubicle-free lunch where the active ingredients are sunlight, sea breeze, a vibrant scene, and live KCRW music! Downtown Santa Monica, Inc. introduces Picnic on the Promenade, a patio that pops on Third Street Promenade Fridays beginning May 16 through the summer. From noon to 3 p.m. at the corner of Arizona and Third Street in Santa Monica, picnic tables and umbrellas spring up to create a lively outdoor lunching area for Santa Monica residents and workers wanting to break free from their computers and cubicles. Picnicgoers are welcome to bring their own food, or grab-and-go from their favorite Third Street Promenade eateries. It’s free, and it’s here for the summer to help celebrate Third Street Promenade’s 25th Anniversary.
