Ann Page: Recent Sculptures and Drawings
Highlights from the "Ann Page: Recent Sculptures and Drawings," artist reception at the Santa Monica College Barrett Art Gallery on Friday, September 11, 2015. The exhibition of work blurs boundaries between art and technology, merging creative thought with geometric modeling, 2D visualization, and 3D printing. Ann Page is Associate Professor of Fine Arts Practice at Roski School of Art & Design, University of California, LA. She has been active at USC in developing art & Technology classes with the information Sciences Institute, and collaborating with the Marshal School of Business-Marketing Division. Professor Page also has introduced 3D-Rapid prototyping as a contemporary tool to the Fine Arts Department through an IT Grant. Her exhibit is based on her involvement with combining her Fine Art Practice with 3-D printers and Painting and Drawing and sculpture. Her lecture will draw from comparisons of forms found in nature using natural geological conglomerate formations combined with 3-D digital processes.
