LAPD Crash Ramps and Bollards Training in Venice

Los Angeles Police Officers (LAPD) and Los Angeles Fire Fighters recice training on how to use the new Venice Beach Ocean Front Walk Crash Ramps and Bollards at Ocean Front Walk, Venice Beach, Thursday, July 15, 2021. The main purpose of anti-ram bollards is to provide a sufficient level of protection and mitigation from vehicle-borne threats to an area. The bollard is a below-ground assembly consisting of a foundation structure and a heavy cylindrical bollard that can be raised or lowered by a buried electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic power unit, and controlled remotely by a range of access control devices. Manually operated systems is also an option. These are counter-balanced and lock in the up or down position.
