Santa Mitzvah Gives Presents to the Homeless in Venice

In celebration of the Jewish holiday of Purim, Marcus J Freed, AKA Santa Mitzvah, gives presents to the unhoused at homeless encampments in Venice on Thursday, March 17, 2022. Purim is the most festive of Jewish holidays, a time of prizes, noisemakers, costumes and treats. The Festival of Purim commemorates a major victory over oppression and is recounted in the Megillah, the scroll of the story of Esther. Purim takes place on the fourteenth and fifteenth days of Adar, the twelfth month of the Jewish calendar. Marcus J Freed is a Jewish community activist, educator, actor/writer and business consultant. He has worked in the Jewish community for over 20 years, taught and performed for over 100 communities in 18 countries. His books include 'The Kosher Sutras: A Yogi's Guide to the Torah' and 'The Kabbalah Sutras: A Yogi's Guide to Counting the Omer'. Marcus writes the 'Satirical Semite' column for the Los Angeles Jewish Journal. Discover more: www.marcusjfreed.com
