Santa Monica College dance students perform during the Global Citizenship Day Festival on Thursday, November 21, 2013. The Festival featured dance performances by SMC's Global Motion World Dance Company and a kaleidoscope of free food, music and games from around the world.

Criterion

Crew takes down the historic Criterion movie theatre sign at the Third Street Promenade on Wednesday, November 20, 2013.The Criterion closed on March 28, 2013. The original Criterion Theatre was built on this site in 1924. The space will be turned into retail.

A crew builds a life-size gingerbread HGTV Holiday House at Santa Monica Place on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Santa Monica Place kicks off its holiday celebrations on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 6 p.m. when HGTV's star builder Carter Oosterhouse unveils Santa's new home for the season, the life-size gingerbread HGTV Holiday House, with a special performance by world-renowned Italian operatic trio, Il Volo, American Idol finalist, Jacob Lusk and more.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Santa Claus gives a present to Josiah Walley, 8, during the The Salvation Army Santa Monica Corps’ 29th Annual Sears Holiday Shopping Spree on Tuesday November 19, 2013. 105 boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 11 were given $100 to buy clothes and shoes for the winter. Volunteers from The Salvation Army Santa Monica Corps Community Center's Advisory Board, service clubs, businesses, and near-by schools escorted and assist each child as they made their selections and purchases. Santa Claus, though not shopping, visited with the children while the Salvation Army band filled the air with the sounds of holiday music.
