2008 Venice Penguin Swim
1,2,3) Swimmers run into the chilly Pacific Ocean during the 48th Annual Venice Penguin Swim on New Years Day-Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at the Venice Beach Breakwater. The 2008 Penguin Swim featured more than 80 participants, three-foot waves, and sunny 70-degree weather, with a water temperature of 55 degrees. 4) Bridget King, 23, (left) and Amanda Viola, 18, (right) bare the cold water tempature of winter Pacific Ocean. 5) Chappie DeHaven, 38, swims ahead of the pack and wins this years 400 yard Venice Penguin Swim race with a time of five minutes and ten seconds. 6) The Venice Penguin Swim club dates back to 1958.

Chelsea Williams
Singer, songwriter and guitarist, Chelsea Williams , 22, performs at the Third Street Promenade on Saturday, December 22, 2007. Chelsea has been writing and performing her own music since she was 13 years old. After a couple of years in two different working bands, Chelsea took the stage on her own by the age of 17, performing at clubs and coffee shops. Chelsea currently makes her living by playing on the street for tips and selling a home-made demo, having sold thousands of CDs in recent months, one-by-one, simply on her own on the street. Her magnetic presence draws them in and her songs set the hook.
