Venice Beach Public Art by Robin Murez
Local Artist Robin Murez gives us a tour of her non-tech interactive Venice themed sculptures on street corners around Venice, Thursday, July 8, 2021. Robin Murez is a public artist and instructor based in Los Angeles, California. Her sculptural installations throughout the US have won numerous awards, critical acclaim and are loved by their communities. From transforming blighted street corners to creating surprising, contemplative and beautiful public spaces, Murez’ work relates seamlessly, if not unexpectedly, to its community and site, as it inspires sensory experiences and provokes conceptual investigations. Both abstract and figurative, Murez’ work is often narrative: sculptural installations that set the stage and invite viewers to be transported into the story. Aesthetics and unexpected surprises draw viewers in, they then enjoy ethereal sensations and explore conceptual beliefs. Murez works both two and three dimensionally, in a wide range of mediums including bronze, concrete, glass, stone, resin, mosaic, steel, light, paint, earth and digital media. The scale of her work ranges from architectural to intimate and often draws upon the cultural history of individuals and communities. #PublicArt #art #sculptures

Kiptoe Mural
Matt Dean, aka Kiptoe, paints a #mural on the Cadillac Hotel at Venice Beach, Tuesday, July 6, 2021. Kiptoe stands out as a multi-talented creator who continues to make his work come to life through stories and animations that he injects into his paintings and videos. After moving across the country from New Hampshire to Los Angeles, he made it his ultimate goal to paint murals around the world. After a couple years in LA, he took it upon himself to travel through South America and create murals on his own. He crafted travel episodes along the way, taking his audience along for the ride through every mural and country. Viewers now can see several mural travel series’ on his YouTube channel, as well as stop-motion animations and short films, and short-form content through his Instagram page. Kiptoe finds his inspiration through comics, sculptures, movies, and his own life adventures. Kiptoe has worked for private clients, small and large businesses, the entertainment industry, and more. He has painted in countries like Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, France, Spain, Germany, Finland, England, Lebanon, and across the USA. POUND IT
POUND® instructors Sandy Watro (@sandstorm909) and Lia Fischer (@theliafischer) lead a fitness class during @fitgirlclubla Self-Care Saturdays at the Third Street Promenade, July 3, 2021. Self-Care Saturdays is a series of free workouts. Instead of listening to music, participants become the music in this exhilarating full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning, and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Using Ripstix®, lightly weighted drumsticks engineered specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out. Designed for all fitness levels, POUND® provides the perfect atmosphere for letting loose, getting energized, toning up and rockin’ out! The workout is easily modifiable and the alternative vibe and welcoming philosophy appeals to men and women of all ages and abilities. POUND® was created in 2011 by two women who were both recreational drummers and former college athletes. They relied heavily on stability-based exercises like pilates to keep their bodies aligned, symmetrical and lean, but were bored with routine and longed to reignite the fun in exercise. It wasn’t until they were forced to drum without a stool and squat over the drum kit that they realized drumming and exercise could be one and the same. #healthcaresaturdays @poundfit #poundfit @cboom_was_here 📸 @fabianlewkowicz
