THE CLASS
Live from The Class (@theclass) summer series fitness class at the Santa Monica Pier, Saturday, July 3, 2021. The Class Summer Series is an invitation to move out of the mind and into the body through connection to the earth, the sun, and the community. The Class is a 60-minute cathartic workout experience. Teachers lead students through the fire of The Class in a safe outdoor setting. Students walk away inspired by the surroundings while having an experience that connects them with the environment, their body, heart, and the people around them.

Venice Beached Closed for Cleaning
Los Angeles Park Rangers post notices that the Venice Beach Boardwalk homeless encampment area will be closed for major cleaning on July 3, 2021. Please remove all personal property by 7am on July 3, 2021. Park Rangers also posted a notice: Resumption of Normal Operations on July 2, 2021. Use of tents is prohibited. Trespassing and storage of personal property after closing is prohibited. Please observe all posted signage.
RIP Sergeant Joaquin Vega
Retired Santa Monica Police Sergeant Joaquin Vega was laid to rest on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, with the support of the Santa Monica Police Department at St. Monica's Church. Joaquin Vega, badge #2717, was hired with the Santa Monica Police Department on October 14, 1985. He worked and supervised a variety of assignments including the Field Training Officer program, 3rd Street Bicycle Unit, Pico Neighborhood Unit, the Gang Unit and was a member of the original Metro Team (SWAT). Joaquin promoted to Sergeant on October 24, 1999. He retired with the department on his birthday December 16, 2014. Joaquin acted as a mentor to many. He always made time to share his knowledge and experiences to those less tenured than him. Joaquin grew up in Santa Monica and was very involved in the community. He was very fortunate to work alongside several of his family members, including his sister, Records Supervisor Elaine Vega. Joaquin will be truly missed by his law enforcement family and community. Rest in Peace Sergeant Joaquin Vega. You will always be remembered. 🙏

Takam teaches that the key to fitness is discipline, not foods, supplements or gyms. Takam does not workout at a gym, he developed his physique without working out at a gym but with simple exercises done at home. 💪
