(TOP) Francesco Raneri, 48, prunes his dwarf Brazilian Banana tree in his  'Permaculture garden' (a closed loop-self sufficient system) on main street during the annual Santa Monica Community Garden Open House on Sunday, June 22, 2008. He harvest over one thousand bananas a year from his dwarf Banana tree. Raneri has occupied his plot  in the Santa Monica Community Garden since 1993.
