A light bulb shines bright on the iconic solar-powered Farris Wheel at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. The light show was part of Conserve Energy SoCal initiative to raise awareness for energy conservation. As the world's only solar-powered Ferris Wheel, the Pacific Wheel's lights will continue to display brilliant images and colors on select Wednesdays throughout the summer to remind everyone of the importance of conservation. Local businesses and retailers in LA and beyond will also offer deals throughout the summer, from refreshing food, beverages, and treats, to local museums and outdoor events, giving residents fun reasons get out of the house, keep the AC turned off and help conserve energy.
