RAINBOW CROSSWALK

Pedestrians walk on the rainbow crosswalk at Abbot Kinney Blvd., Saturday, July 20, 2019. Abbot Kinney dedicated the rainbow crosswalk in recognition of the 50th anniversary of Stonewall uprising. “Now we’ve walked in the open and know how pleasant it is to have self-respect and to be treated as human beings. We want to be in the sunlight from now on,” Richard Leitsch, 1935-2018. The rainbow crosswalk is made possible with the support of L.A. City Councilmember Mike Bonin, L.A. County Supervisor Sheila Kuel, Abbot Kinney Merchants Association and Venice Pride.
