On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, competitors took part in a dunk contest at the Venice Beach Basketball Courts, as part of Hulu's promotional event for their new remake, White Men Can't Jump. During the event, guests had the opportunity to play basketball on-site with the presence of the Hoopbus. Attendees were also given complementary promotional merchandise related to White Men Can't Jump. This highly anticipated American sports comedy film is a remake of the 1992 movie of the same name and is produced by 20th Century Fox. Directed by Calmatic and written by Kenya Barris, Doug Hall, and Ron Shelton, the film features Sinqua Walls and Jack Harlow in the lead roles, along with Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, Vince Staples, Myles Bullock, and the late Lance Reddick in one of his final film performances before his passing in March 2023. The release of White Men Can't Jump is scheduled for May 19, 2023, exclusively on Hulu.
